A loud crowing of Gong Xi Fa Cai awaits all at the coming of the Spring Festival. While everyone anticipates the coming of the Year of the Fire Rooster, Feng Shui experts and believers are stocking up on and placing various trinkets and good luck charms at strategic places around their houses or on their person to bring good fortune this Chinese New Year.

Every time Chinese New Year comes along, children (and sometimes even adults) expect their elders to give them Ang Pao, the lucky red envelope (preferably with lots of money inside) symbolizing increased wealth. This is the same for the lucky coins with square holes in them, normally tied together with a red ribbon or string.
Crystal Balls or Crystal flowers are also used to spread good vibes and cheer throughout the year. They also are used to help brighten young minds for better studies. Another mineral used is quartz, which is supposed to improve your love-life.

So for whatever purpose it is, these good luck charms are just supposed to improve chances and odds of good fortune. Whatever the Chinese New Year brings will still be dependent on your actions. Gong Xi Fa Cai!
