ZIP JUICE DRINK

We had Zesto, which was and maybe still is the undisputed king of tetra pack juices. Sunkist and Jungle Juice also entered the fray and joined the juice race. But one contender literally broke the mold and joined the fight…Zip! Zip was unprecedented and highly controversial! It was not in a tetra pack! This was not in a rectangular carton! It was a triangle! Better yet, it was in a 3-dimensional pyramid! A juice in a pyramid! This was monumental! Everyone flocked to stores to try out this triangular juice drink that was brave enough to be different. Until now, it stays as one of the most memorable juice snacks ever because of its different size and style!
PRO-TIP: Being a pyramid in style is cool, but this also makes it difficult to store in your regular lunchbox or container. Back to your regular juice drink I guess!

There were lots of good chocolate candies and bars back in the day. But none of them were as cute and bite-sized as Curly Tops! These little babies would line up in a box all neat and nice just ready for you. Open the carton box and pick one of the little cups and gobble away! One was never enough! Three or four would be just right. And since sharing is caring, one box would be just about enough for a group of 2 to 3 friends. The Curly Tops brand would later be replaced by Flat Tops, and these came in candy wrapper form. But up to now, I still miss the joy of opening a box of Curly Tops and having my chocolate fix filled by gobbling up these little cupcakes of choco goodness.
PRO-TIP: Try not to litter with the small, plastic coverings of the curly tops. So if you’re in a hurry, just chomp the whole thing down. Chocolate and plastic and all.

I have many chocolate favorites. Let’s see. Three Musketeers would be by the top of the list. It is so chewy and good. KitKat is also a champion. Who doesn’t love chocolate and wafers? Plain old Hershey’s Kisses are also a favorite. It takes about 5 or 6 kisses to solve that chocolate longing. And Twix! I love Twix! Twin sticks of caramel heaven. Twix is legit. But do you want to know a secret? Out of all these great chocolate bars and brands, my real top-notch favorite isn’t even there yet. My first choice? Good old Serg’s chocolate bar. And they’re gone! The cream colored paper wrapping, the foil inner wrap, all reveals my favorite chocolate bar of all time. It came in many different variants after a while, but the original plain Serg’s was my favorite. I love Serg’s. and I am sad to see it gone.
PRO-TIP: Since it was locally made, Serg’s was cheap! Cheaper than all the other imported brands. That meant more value for money!
