We all have those cravings to comfort us. Whether it’s because of a bad breakup, stress or just a typical bad hair day – we all look into that particular food or cuisine that we’ll make us say…‘now this is heaven’.
However, eating made us feel guilty at times especially after counting those fats and calories written at the back of its wrapper. If only we can have all those burgers and fries without suffering from the consequences of fats waving on us after feeling better, depressing right? We look for comfort only to feel guilty afterwards.
But wait…you should worry no more! Did you know that there are certain types of foods that can improve your mood and at the same time healthy enough for you to digest? Yes, you read it right. Here are some of the healthy foods that can improve your mood:

Experts say chocolates, particularly dark chocolates, may help reduce stress hormones that your body’s producing. It was then validated by a recent study in Switzerland that an intake of about 1.4 ounce of dark chocolate has the ability to lower the stress hormones cortisol and catecholamines in the body reducing the probability of anxiety.
Also, dark chocolate are healthier than milk chocolate because it contains less carbohydrates, less sugar, more cholesterol-neutral fat and more cocoa polyphenols in a more bioavailable form than milk chocolate.

Ever wonder why Popeye suddenly go strong whenever he ate spinach from the can? Well, it turns out spinach has the ability to energize you. Interesting right?
If you feel sleepy or can’t concentrate at all, experts says it might be because of the impaired blood flow in our system in which high levels of homocysteine are associated with damage blood vessels interfering the flow of nutrients to our brain. In order to avoid it, one should eat folate-rich food like spinach and other green leafy vegetables.
So the next time you feel unmotivated and tired, why not go for a healthy snack like salad with spinach on the top and be as strong and energized like a sailor man.
Apple and Peanut Butter

Nope? Well now you do.
Being irritated and moody means your body need fuel. Food rich in carbohydrates and protein are best combined to reduced irritation because carbohydrates are a great source of energy while fat or protein can help slow the digestion process of sugar that can help stabilize your energy level in a longer amount of time.
