Start your year with free music and pizza!
New York’s Finest pizza company has finally launched their So Worth It! Pizza Tour at Eastwood Central Plaza last Saturday, January 5, by giving Filipinos what they need to have a head start this year.
It won’t be Yellow Cab without the people enjoying a free slice of New York-style pizza and to top it all of, a complimentary cup of Heineken when they answer one simple question, “What is your personal chase and why is it so worth it?”
The event also caters awesome music and have garnered music fans, pizza lovers, and hardworking Filipinos from around the city, who were filled up for their so-worth-it chase with Yellow Cab’s edge-to-edge pizzas.
There were games hosted by 99.5 Play FM and participants from the audience got a chance to win freebies and limited edition Pizza Passes were handed out to guests, which they can use to redeem discounts for dine-in purposes made at selected Yellow Cab stores.
With a jam-packed program that started in the afternoon, the Pizza Tour opened with DJ MVRXX taking on the stage to hype up the crowd. A surprise performance was followed by alternative female duo, Leanne and Naara, and solo serenader, Dane Hipolito.
So Worth It! Tour also included the indie rock group, Oh, Flamingo! to perform. They have become one of the top local bands to watch for. Up next was no other than fast-rising, chart-topping band, Ben&Ben.
What makes it so worth it?
The indie folk-pop group shared how music that moves people and stirs emotion can only come from believing that the chase is and will always be worth it. They faced many challenges when they first started out, from getting people to appreciate their music genre to performing during the wee hours of the night just to get their music out in the world.
“Helping and learning from each other though every struggle is what inspires us to do what we do,” lead vocalist, Paolo Guico of Ben&Ben shared.
“There were definitely moments in the past when we questioned ourselves, especially when doing multiple gigs four to five times a week started to take a toll on us physically and mentally, but at the same time, this is what pushed us to continue making and playing our music.”
Ben&Ben is now enjoying the fruits of their labor as may fans have waited for them and sang along with their hit songs. Wrapping up the night was high-octane spinner Mia Ayesa a.k.a DJ Miaow, who, with her killer looks and music, kept the crowd’s energy at its highest.
