So, one day, you just woke up and then bam it hits you! “Go, feel alive. Live life. Experience some real travel adventure.” – said the voice through the rays of sun beaming through the glass windows of your humble 3-storey bedroom. With a glint in your eye, you nod, you smile 🙂 The voice then added “Go, but travel without your Yaya!”. All you could muster is…”Oh syet!”…such is the devastation, right? But forward you want to go. Challenge accepted! On to an eventure!
Exaggerations aside, if it’s your 1st time to go solo for a travel adventure, it can be quite exciting and daunting. Even more so if you’ve been urban all your life. If your idea of communing with nature is something like jogging at the BGC Greenway Park, or maybe enjoying the “diverse” amount of plants and trees at the Greenbelt Park in Ayala, then you’re in for a lot of surprises. Let’s just make it clear here, when we say travel adventure, it’s not the mainstream places where everyone else goes. As we know there are other so much more beautiful places to consider when we talk about a travel adventure.
Everyone’s been enjoying travel lately, particularly the solo, finding-oneself kind of travel. Proof of the matter? Just give a quick glance at your Facebook news feed and for sure you’ll see posts of the latest travel adventure of one of your friends. Take a quick peek at some of your friends IG posts, you get the same stuff. Gorgeous and IG worthy travel pictures. It’s not about jumping on the bandwagon. Adventure and travel are simply experiences worth doing. This is the time to discover places, people and culture. Time to discover yourself (so please don’t bring Yaya ayt!). So, to make sure your 1st travel adventure all goes well, aside from checking lists for travel must-haves, we’re sharing 5 tips you should definitely consider for an unforgettable 1st time real adventure travel.
Tip #1: Wear the Proper Attire
Really, this needs to be addressed first and foremost. Do not, in any way or form, think about making room for your color-coordinated designer clothes for your travel pack. You just won’t need them! Or imagine wearing a Darth Vader costume for a supposedly awesome adventure at some of the most breathtaking mountains here in the Philippines..silly, right?
You’ll need to think ahead of the elements you will be dealing with. Always consider bringing items that will be comfortable, easily cleanable, and those that offer some form of protection from the elements. Those “nice” pictures of your friends with amazing background landscapes that are envy worthy and whatnot, that’s not the whole picture. Before they got there, they probably needed to go through difficult terrains or use not-so-comfortable forms of commute. You can lessen the hardships of getting to a similarly amazing destination by for example, “not wearing leather shoes or high-heels”…take our word for it!
