Eventurers and the Elements
Eventurers come in all shapes, sizes, and functions. Each has his or her own interest that they share with the rest of the event-loving community. Sometimes, there are a few bloggers in the pool that have stood out for their stuff. Here are some event bloggers that are known for their blogs which also feature outdoor activities and events.
Top 5 Outdoor Event Bloggers
1. Gideon Lasco
Who would think that a medical practitioner would be known for sharing his experiences on outdoor events? Pinoymountaineer.com blogger Gideon Lasco is actually a physician and a medical anthropologist. You would think that, based on his day job (two, at that), he would not have time to share his eventures with the world.
He has not let the busy, hectic (read: toxic) work schedule of a doctor stop him from doing what he really loves. Based on his regular, numerous blog posts. Gideon loves to climb mountains and go on long hikes and treks. The stark contrast between the outdoor life and the hospital rounds seems to be perfect for release and catharsis.
Just recently, he started a series of hikes targeted toward beginners. Aptly dubbed #FirstAscent, he aims to share his love for the maintains by actually instilling that same love in others.
2. and 3. Kach Medina Umandap and Jonathan Howe
Is there any way to ensure that your thirst for outdoor eventures is never quenched? Simple. Just share it with someone who is equally passionate. The hip husband-wife tandem of Filipina Kach Medina Umandap and Brit Jonathan Howe have been sharing their outdoor experiences since 2013. Through their blog, Two Monkeys Travel Group, the eventurer couple have shared their international travels, as well as their local exploits.
Known for “Sailing, Luxury, and Adventure”, as their blog states, the daring duo have seen “it all” but want more. And it seems that, just like Gideon, this pair of eventurers want to instill the love for the outdoors and for travel to as many people as they can. What I like about their blog is that it provides links to the right resources to make your travel as awesome as possible.
4. Anton Diaz
Among the most famous travel and food bloggers in the Philippines is another one whose background makes him an unlikely eventurer. Our Awesome Planet’s Anton Diaz finished with a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE). Not exactly associated with blogging or eventuring, now is it? But then again, being an eventurer seeks to break boundaries and stereotypes.
His once-personal blog has evolved from just simply talking about travel. It now has sections and categories. Traditional outdoor events like this Onsen piece are now accompanied by other topics such as food, films, and even generic news. And more than that, the blog is now made up of a whole community of writers who want to share about “our awesome planet”.
5. Jackie Go
What do you do when you’re a mompreneur with two kids, a small business, and a passion for dressing up? You put up a blog and write about all kids of stuff, of course! That’s exactly what homemaker-cum-print-model Jackie Go did. Her personal blog Go Jackie Go showcases what she calls “good things, good news, and good vibes”.
So, where’s the outdoor eventuring there? Well, when she talks about lifestyle, she talks about life in style. She documents her travels and activities; any and every moment she can share ends up in the virtual pages of her blog. From personal achievements as her first time to climb a mountain (cue: singing nun from Sound of Music) to a simple urban walk featuring new shoes, her blog has got the outdoors covered.
These big names have made names for themselves as trusted eventurers. You can, too! Sign up to be an eventurer today and start sharing your eventful moments!
