Never have I ever felt this happy and sad at the same time. The merch in this convention is so tempting to purchase. Unfortunately, I did not have the foresight to bring enough money to satisfy my urges. My first advice for everyone is bring cash! Some of the things that you can find here at APCC are convention exclusives. Yep, that means you can’t buy them anywhere else!

Everything you could ever want as a collector can be found here. Toys, comics, art prints, and cards are just a few of the collectibles that can buy on the convention floor. Personally, I can’t wait to grab myself one of Quicc’s toys! That mash of robot and hip hop is just so appealing!
Things Just Got a Bit Stranger

One of APCC’s main exhibitors this year is Netflix and let me tell you, the streaming giant did not pull any punches with their exhibit. The whole thing is massive!
What is Will trying to tell us?
Netflix lets you visit the various set pieces of their most popular shows. You can jump from feeling like a Defender in the streets of New York to exploring the Upside Down in Stranger things. Make sure to grab their freebies when you walk out. I’m not going to lie, they’re pretty dope.

Cross Paths with a Member of the Shimada Clan
It’s a pretty cool feeling to meet anyone who is involved with your favorite intellectual properties. That’s exactly what happened today when we managed to get a sit-down with Gaku Space. If you’re a fan of the game Overwatch, then you probably know who that is. That’s right! The voice of Genji Shimada!
RYUJIN NO KEN WO KURAE! Gaku Space is an awesome down to earth dude!
It was a surreal experience to be quite frank, his voice was soft, but can get overpowering when he needs it to be. Everyone in the room found out he was there when he shouted the famous line “ryujin no ken wo kurae”! His voiced echoed to the halls, and honestly I couldn’t help feeling like I was about to get hit by Genji’s dragon blade.
Awesome Cosplay
International Cosplay Idol, Haiden Hazard as Hatsune Miku.
APCC day 1 had a pretty good turn out of Cosplayers. The featured cosplayers where strutting their stuff, but the cosplayers visiting the convention did not disappoint either. Haiden Hazard mesmerised everyone with her Hatsune Miku cosplay. My favorite cosplayer by far was Winter Soldier. The costume was so accurate that I was pretty sure it was the actual Bucky standing right in front of me.
Is that the real Bucky Barnes?
I feel that everything is building up to Saturday and Sunday where more people will be available to go to APCC. More cosplay is never a bad thing. Everything will lead to the awesome CAGE Cosplay competition this weekend!
That’s it so far for my experience at APCC day 1. Things are off to a good start and I’m pretty sure it will just get better and better! If you’re a geek you wouldn’t want to miss this experience. APCC is one of the biggest pop culture gatherings every year!
