SUPPORT FOR REGULAR HEROES
As human beings we are entrusted with the care of the world. It’s sad to say that most of us have not being playing our role, but the task in itself is daunting. Luckily, there are people in the world protecting nature. WWF’s Power Up a Ranger is a program dedicated to supporting those who dedicate their lives to preserve the world around us.
Guardians of Nature
Power Up a Ranger is a crowd funding project started by Earth Hour Blue on 2014. The project’s main goal is to support the Rangers in the forests of Kalimantan and Sumatra who protect endangered wildlife. The animals included in their care are the Sumatran Tiger, Elephant Rhino, and Orangutan. The Rangers also protect the natural forest habitat of these animals.
Sumatran Tiger, one of the animals these rangers are trying to protect.
These Rangers start their day early, when the sun rises they begin patrolling the jungle and hiking through mountains to guard the wildlife. Their full day consists of stopping encroaches, poachers, forest fires, and helping the animals. You might think that this task is already too big to handle, but these rangers also patrol the sea. That’s right, land and sea, 24/7 to protect nature for us.
How Can We Help?
The rangers need help to improve their technology and safety gear that can help make their job easier and make sure that they can get home safely. To help donate you go to the official website for the Earth Hour Rangers here.
All living things are sacred and these people work hard to protect it. We can do our part to by supporting this good cause. Just like WWF and Earth Hour Blue have mentioned it’s time to “use our power” to Power Up a Ranger. Are you looking for more events for charity? Check out YuneOh.com for more information.
