Do you remember your first video game console experience? For most, if not all, of the #TitosOfManila, afternoons (or however late your parents allowed you) were spent mashing on the two-button controllers of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) or its Asian version, the Family Computer. With pre-installed games that are sure to excite you to the point that the word “sleep” is removed from your lexicon, the NES Classic Edition is sure to take you back decades in gaming fun. I wonder, though, if the up-up-down-down-left-right-left-right-B-A-Start (or select-start, for two-player mode) cheat code for added lives will work, now that the console and gaming experience have been upgraded? Also, it’s now called Super C instead of Contra, so… who knows.

It’s like Rick Moranis fed the old NES to his Honey, I Shrunk the Kids machine, but instead of microsizing it, gave it save options and high definition. I’m beginning to think that N in NES stands for Nostalgia.
