Explosive Spectacles at the Pyromusical 2017
Fireworks always make any celebration or occasion more festive and epic. With each flash and boom, they have their own stories to tell. After last weekend’s Pyromusical, here’s an event review that will keep you coming back weekend after weekend.
Year after year, for more than a decade, Manila Bay has been the location for a month-long series of grand fireworks displays. What used to be known as the “Pyrolympics” has been rebranded as “Pyromusical”. Before, the displays were purely visual. These days, the international competition has included the musical component as an added challenge.
Keep Coming Back for More Boom
This year’s Pyromusical event is no different. It still features international competitors. It still has the grandest displays of pyrotechnics. But here are a few more reasons that will definitely get you to see the show:
1. Huge Fireflowers
For regulars at the SM Seaside Complex, every weekend the whole year round showcases a few minutes for a magnificent pyrotechnic program. The pyromusical is much more than just the weekend show, however. Each set of fireworks comes out more memorable and grander than any ol’ Friday or Saturday display. Massive blooms in the air with streaks of red or orange will make your head tilt way back there just to see them in their entirety.
2. Cute Designs
Normally, fireworks are associated with flower blooms and dandelions. The same patterns done with varying intensity and color usually populate the show. However, there are times that we see something out of the ordinary. Sometimes, they designers include planets, hearts, smiles, and other surprisingly innovative designs to break the monotony.
3. Smoke on the water
Most of the time, fire is killed by water. Unless, of course, there is a certain combustible fuel mixed with the water, then pyro displays are usually doomed. Every once in a while, though, we are caught off-guard with a pyrotechnic showcase ON the water. Sometimes, the pyro seems to come from the water itself. Other times, you can see swimming rockets alit like torpedoes or glowing sharks.
Finally, it’s the music that makes the difference. I mean, it is called the Pyro MUSICAL, after all. In every movie masterpiece, the soundtrack helps to give a certain emotional flavor and intellectual depth to the show. This year’s pyromusical is no different. The performers banked on the various musical pieces to guide and direct their explosive spectacles. Honestly, I did not expect that one of them would use My Chemical Romance’s Welcome to the Black Parade. Intense!
There are still a few more weekends this year for you to experience your own explosive and fantastic pyrotechnic spectacles at the seaside. Whether alone or with a date, you may want to sit as close to the water as possible. This is more than just a wonderful sight.
