Today, May 4, is internationally known as the Star Wars Day in honor of probably one of the most iconic and epic pop-culture franchise that ever existed—– Star Wars. Fans from all over the world are celebrating in appreciation of their most loved intergalactic drama which has took the world by storm upon its released 40 years ago.
The usual greeting that fellow Star Wars fans would give to one another on this special day would be “May the 4th be with you” which is a very witty pun on the greetings made by the protagonists on the film, “May the FORCE be with you”. Star Wars had also been iconic because of how gripping and engrossing its plot twists are like Darth Vader being Luke’s father or Princess Leia and Luke being siblings. But one other iconic thing that the epic series had brought to life was how the Stormtroopers in the movie, just can’t seem to hit anything.
The Imperial Stormtroopers are fictional soldiers in the franchise that were made to serve as the army of the Galactic Empire. They were intended to live by the military philosophy of the Galactic Empire which heavily incorporates the “Tarkin-doctrine”, which mandates “rule through fear or force”. They were supposed to be heartless, ruthless and cold and were tasked to dispose any rebels who threatens the Empire. They were meant to pose as a challenge for Jedis in the films, in fact even Obi-Wan Kenobi himself said “These blast-points… Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise.”
But still, the greatest plot hole in the series would be why and how these supposed menacing Stormtrooper can’t HIT ANYTHING. Not even a motionless target, they can’t hit. Just ask any Aldereen Princess who stood almost eight feet away from these troopers. That close and they still miss!
