Only in this generation has it become lucrative to make a career out of playing video games. The last thing parents would want to hear their kids say when they ask them “What do you want to be when you grow up?” is “A Pro-Gamer” – I mean sitting in front of the screen playing video games all day? Who can make a living out of that!? Well, the members of TnC Pro Team did and they are better off than a lot of people their age who have a “serious” job. As more and more platforms that showcase video-gaming culture pop up – Twitch, Youtube, and E-sport leagues are a good example, more and more people are making a living out of their hobby.
Being part of an E-sport league or tournament is not an easy task though. Just like any sport, it takes time, practice, and determination. This group of young Filipinos went up against other pro-teams like Cloud 9 and bested them in strategy, skill, and team-work. So, it’s fair to say that they did not waste their time playing/doing something they loved.
So, Ryo Hasegawa, Samson Solomon Enojosa Hidalgo, Carlo Palad, Timothy John Radrup, and Marc Polo Luis Faust of TnC Pro Team we fellow Pinoy gamers salute and congratulate you for bringing honor to the Philippines as this year’s WESG 2016 champions!
