March means a celebration for women. It’s a month wherein the rights of women are revisited; a month where advocacies by women are heard; a month where every woman are honored; and a month where women championed for #BeBoldForChange.
There are a lot of notable women one can look up to as an inspiration. There’s Oprah Winfrey who choose to speak to women through television, movies, books, and radio. CNN and Time have declared her as “the most influential woman in the world”.
You can also count Hillary Clinton who became one of the First Ladies of the United States, a US Senator, and as very popular candidate for President of the US. She became a trail blazer for women in politics and through this she’s encouraging women to pursue their dreams and join the political process, which is considered as a man’s game.
Another name who surpassed a man’s dynasty is Indra Nooyi. She’s the Chief Executive Officer of PepsiCo, the world’s 4th largest food and beverage company. As one of the most powerful women in the world, according to Forbes, Nooyi improves business, create jobs, make healthier foods, and championed advocacies in having an eco-friendly company.
You can’t also deny the fact that the British author known for the Harry Potter series, JK Rowling, is one of the influential women novelists of the world. Having sold more than 400 million copies of Harry Potter series worldwide and winning numerous awards, Rowling is truly an inspiration to everybody. Aside from her literary work, she’s also contributing to charitable organizations whose aim is to fight poverty and social inequality in the world.
They were just four of the thousand women fighting for women in their respective industries and careers. There are a lot of them around just waiting to be heard.
There are also these celebrities who chose to work with a charity or foundations to support women and other advocacies. They have been maximizing their voices to shed light to people who needed it the most. These celebrities have been champion and influential in their very own way.
