Heartbreak is universal, we’ve all experienced it.
For you, it might be the moment you break up with your partner or the time you first lost a loved one, a friend or even a pet. It can also be the unrequited love from your best friend. Or it can be the love that was never relayed to the one that got away. For others, it might be as shallow as misplacing the favorite sweater that grandma gave them on their birthday or breaking valuables given by someone special to their hearts.
It hurts, but let me tell you something important my friend, the pain you had and the memories you lost, it’s not permanent as time can always heal the wounds – no matter how deep or shallow it is – love lost and dead dreams will eventually fade away.
How do we get over and move on? Well, we can do what Taylor Swift does best — to turn heartbreak into an award-winning song. Or maybe we can try Selena’s formula to cope — which is to spend time with friends.
You can opt to stay home and binge-watch the series you never had the chance to see before. Re-watch a comedy that made you laugh so hard, it almost eased the pain you’re feeling. Better yet, you can go out and watch the latest movie on the big screen. If you want, you can also save yourself a seat at a concert and jam with your favorite band as you sing your heart out until you can no longer remember the reason why you’re hurting.
1) ‘Learn to love yourself’ as what Justin Bieber said.
Engage in a new hobby or better yet, spend your time learning something new. Indulging in some “me” time will do you a lot of good and this would be the perfect way to rekindle your long lost passion.
2) Same old love – trust me, Selena is right – the heart wants what it wants.
Oh! And how can we forget about food? Stop being guilty on how many pounds you’ll gain when you take that double cheese bacon and mushroom burger you’re craving. You deserve that bite just how you deserve comfort after being hurt and feeling lost.
3) Take it from Taylor Swift, just shake it off!
If you still feel guilty, then go out and run. Be a gym member or join a marathon. You’ll not only lose the fat you gained but also the emotional baggage you’ve been carrying since day 1. If a healthy lifestyle is not enough, pack your bag and go travel somewhere exciting.
4) Stop asking like Whitney Houston did. Instead, be like Demi Lovato, let it go.
A broken heart is not the end of the story, it’s just the beginning. Turn the nightmare into a fairytale. Believe in happily-ever-after, pick up the pieces, hold your head up and go have fun. You deserve to be happy.
5) Take it from Selena when she said “Sometimes you’ll have moments where you’ll feel weak. They’re supposed to encourage you, they’re supposed to motivate you and push you.”
It takes time to heal but hey, you’ll be fine my friend!
