Finally, a tailor-made holiday for our seamstress
Seamstress are the unsung heroes of special occasions such as weddings and balls. They work for long hours just to make our gowns or suits look ostentatious to catch attention. Usually they lose sleep several nights before the big day. After all, their work speaks a lot about their capability to make any lady beautiful and glamorous, and the gentlemen, sharp and dapper. They not only suggest designs that best compliments your body type, they also painstakingly outsource materials from the ends of the earth – beads, textiles, laces, and other materials that will make your suit dazzling. They make sure to tuck every hem in its place, and adjust the measurements accordingly for a perfect fit if you happen to outgrow, or shrunk, in your gown.
And while special occasions come and go in all days of the year, tailors deserve their much-needed break. Luckily, every first Wednesday of June is called National Tailor’s Day and it falls on June 7 this year. Show some love to your favorite go-to tailors.
MAKE YOUR TAILORS FEEL APPRECIATED ON NATIONAL TAILOR’S DAY
Send A Thank You Note
It’s the simplest yet most appreciated form of gesture. Sure, the transaction ended when you paid in full the amount you owe your dressmaker. Some tailors though makes it a policy to go the extra mile. They’ll be there to dress and assist you on your special day. Be there by your side while the occasion is ongoing, with pins and double sided tapes in tow to help fix unexpected fashion boo-boos. Or offer a hug or a gentle push when you’re getting cold feet. There are some things that money can’t buy but expressing your gratitude through a simle thank you note can go a long way of showing that person that the things they do are appreciated.
