Being one with the elements and Nature while enjoying the exciting eventful life is an experience all on its own. Whether its up a mountain, by the sea, or in the open fields, there’s really something about the outdoors that adds a unique flavor to any eventure. Here are a number of Event Destinations in the Philippines outside of the capital city of Manila to head on to.
Awesome Outdoor Events Destinations outside of Manila
1. La Trinidad, Benguet
Down the road from the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio City, lies the event venue of La Trinidad. Due to its cool climate, Benguet’s capital is home to the best strawberries in the Philippines. It’s no wonder, then, that this is where the Strawberry Festival is celebrated and held.
It started more than 35 years ago, as farmers were encouraged to grow strawberries as opposed to other produce in the other towns of Benguet. This would add a unique signature to the town and eventually create its own niche in the agriculture sector. La Trinidad is also known for its World Record for the largest strawberry shortcake ever created.
2. Clark, Pampanga
As one of the locations of the former United States Military Installations, Clark has had its share of visitors and tourists over the years. Whether it’s for PX or Duty Free goods, or simply to travel to another country via the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport, Clark has served as a little Manila outside of the capital in more ways than one.
It has also seen its share of exciting events and activities. The annual Hot Air Balloon festival is held in February. This year, Color Manila has extended its running activities to include this renowned Pampanga town. Dubbed the Color Manila Challenge: Clark 2017, the race has found an alternative home in the open spaces of the former air base.
3. Lubao, Pampanga
Just a few towns south of Clark, we find the town of Lubao. Known for its celebration of the little fragrant flower the Sampaguita, Lubao started these festivities in 2012 to commemorate their 440th Foundation Anniversary.
Just like Clark, Lubaos fields and open areas are also home to Baloon Festivals. On the first week of April every year, the Lubao International Hot Air Balloon Festival is held. In 2017, expect 40 magnificent hot air balloons fill the summer sky above Lubao. For extended ooh and ahhs, some of these aerial wonders will even glow at night!
4. Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro
Just a few hours south of Manila, off the coast of Batangas, is a prime beach destination: Puerto Galera. The venue is actually a collection of different types of beaches, one for every kind of sea lover. There are quiet, isolated beaches, while there are party venues and evens those for divers and sports enthusiasts.
Aside from the annual Malasimbo Music Festival, Puerto Galera has Divers Conventions, where divers from all over the world gather to improve their skills, as well as talk about environmental concerns and actions.
5. Mt. Mayon, Albay
Topping off this list is the majestic, near-perfect Mayon Volcano. Albay’s towering jewel is an international marvel the likes of Mt. Fuji in Japan, and Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa. Bordered by eight towns of albay, the awesome Mayon is equally shared by the surrounding locales.
This grand lady of volcanoes is also home to the breathtaking (literally) Mayon 360 Ultramarathon race, where participants will traverse the highs and lows all around the volcano to see her from every angle and perspective.
This list is too short to name all the awesome events destinations in the Philippines. The 7000+ islands of this wonderful and eventful country will definitely have all guests and visitors in awe.
