Celebrate your singleness in Singles Run!
Single people often get left out, or often get branded as a thirdwheel. Although being single has its perks, the loneliness can sometimes become too much, even so when your friends are all in a relationship and are busybees especially during this love month. Hold your tears! There’s nothing wrong with being single; having high standards, and being choosy are your rights, so brighten up and celebrate singleness!
Red Sports PH is one with singletons last February 10 for the first ever Singles Run!
The singles’ heart breaks, trust issues, and love problems may not vanish, but, somehow, this event gives them the chance to feel loved, be more confident in being single, and gives them the knowledge that they are never alone in the battleground littered with scarred hearts.
Organized by Red Sports PH and Red Entertainment, single people need not be ashamed by their singleness anymore. With Valentine’s day just around the corner, this run is the one event much needed by all single folks out there – This run will be just the right confidence booster for all single hearts out there!
When asked if Singles Run helped boost the confidence of singletons, this is what Red Sports, Operations Head, Ms. Alexandra Faith Garcia had to say:
“Yes, of course! Diba parang normal na may events pag Valentine’s, like may dates, or whatever, may promos. Parang we feel sad naman na parang yung mga hindi in a relationship, hindi sila magkakaroon ng event for themselves, parang yung Feb 14 sobrang sad for them, nakaka- O. P. for them, so we created this event para magkaroon ng event para sa kanila.”
(Yes, of course! It’s become a norm for events to take place during Valentine’s, there are dates, there are promos. We feel sad that those who aren’t in a relationship, do not have an event for themselves, it’s as if Feb 14 has become a sad day for them, a day when they’d feel out of place, so we created this event for them to have an event. )
With hundreds of runners, Singles Run was indeed a success. It just goes to show how single people really need a community to celebrate their singleness.
Activities for singletons!
The event did not only focus on the marathon, it also offered a lot of thrilling side activities. The location was loaded with different booths correlating with the idea of ‘love’. The people who want to lock themselves away from the harsh effects of love can seal themselves in the ‘jail booth’. And those who have found their soulmates during the run can make sure that their new found partners remain with them forever by getting hitched in the ‘marriage booth’ that is complete with a bride’s bouquet, a wedding veil and a priest. Even the people who crave warmth can have free hugs from the buff agents of love mingling with the runners in the event.
Singletons and couples get their fun in Singles Run!
The event wasn’t just participated by single people, even happy couples celebrated with the broken hearts! Not all of the runners were bitter, broken hearted people, most of the participants just wanted to be part of the fun and spend it with their friends or special someones.
After a very long run, the runners were awarded with a medal, a rose, a heart-shaped balloon, a Singles Run shirt and a loot bag. The runners also ran for a cause with Singles Run’s proceeds going to the Dialysis PH Support Group, Inc.
The run did not fail its mission of giving singletons something to celebrate this coming Valentine’s day. With its huge success, we’ll surely see more Single hopefuls for next year’s Singles Run!
