Jeff Goldblum is Back as Dr. Ian Malcolm
Many older Jurassic Park fans will remember Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm. The actor has played many pivotal roles in big movies such as Independence Day, The Lost World, Grand Budapest Hotel, Independence Day: Resurgence and more recently in Thor: Ragnarok. Many loved him in the original Jurassic Park as the snappy and witty Dr. Malcolm. He reprised this role in Jurassic Park: The Lost World opposite Julianne Moore. And now with the smashing success of Chris Pratt and Jurassic World, we get news that he is officially signing on for Jurassic World 2!
Dr. Ian Malcolm
In the first Jurassic Park film, we were introduced to three main scientists as part of team to first experience the dinosaur theme park. Sam Neil played Dr. Allan Grant, Laura Dern as Ellie Sattler, and Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm. The three were experts in different fields of science involved in Jurassic. So they were chosen, along with 2 children, to be the first visitors in Jurassic Park. And we all know what happened next.
Jurassic Park: The Lost World was the sequel to the original film. Here Goldblum reprised his role as the good doctor and helped stop a rampaging T-Rex that was on lose in the city. The car scene with the mother T-Rex chasing the baby T-Rex at the back of the convertible was one of the film’s best moments. Julianne Moore lent her dramatic powers to the film and The Lost World became another blockbuster hit.
Years down the road we see that the love and the thrill for dinosaur films are still alive and kicking. With Chris Pratt’s comic yet action-packed character bringing much star-power and interest back into the films, the Jurassic World movie became a record-breaking box-office hit. And with Jeff Goldblum providing some much needed senior experience in all things dinosaur, we can expect toms of witty banter, rows of teeth, and some new menacing dinosaurs that they both have to face…and survive!
