Lee Min Ho is still the most-favorite Korean actor!

Lee Min Ho’s first international breakthrough came in 2009 with his role of Go Jun-pyo in KBS’s Boys Over Flowers, a TV drama series based on the Japanese shōjo manga series. It was the fifth adaptation, following Taiwan’s Meteor Garden and its sequel Meteor Garden II, and Japan’s Hana Yori Dango and its sequel Hana Yori Dango Returns. This particular series attracted high viewership ratings and netizen buzz throughout South Korea and some neighboring Asian countries. It also gave Lee Min Ho at least two (2) Best New Actor awards by different award-giving buddies.
Since Boys Over Flowers, Lee Min Ho became immensely popular in Asian countries, especially in China. In 2014, he returns to television with a drama entitled The Heirs with Park Shin-hye. This drama has been watched over one billion times on a Chinese streaming website iQiyi.
Lee Min Ho’s international breakthrough and contributions make him a true Hallyu superstar. Those contributions gave him the “Prime Minister Award” at the 5th Korean Popular Culture & Arts Award. He was also cited by Sohu Media Awards as the Most Popular International Actor for 2013.
