The show is over. The judges have spoken. The crowd has gone. The confetti has been swept away. The crown has been placed on the head of Miss France. All is well. But we have a few choice candidates of our own! Allow us to showcase our fan favorites on today’s Miss Universe!
Let’s start with the TOP 9!

Of course we are ecstatic that our very own Maxine Medina made it. But I have to say that Kenya, Thailand, and Canada were my early favorites! Each step was critical and all the girls flaunted their best looks and made their way to the next stage…the TOP 6! This is where I was mildly disappointed. My 2 best bets didn’t make it!

I loved how Miss Canada carried herself with poise and strength. She represented against body shaming and stood up for beauty no matter the shape. Plus she’s smart, plays hockey, and survived a house fire! My second bet is Miss USA. She’s strong, oozes with confidence, a Masterals holder, and a captain the military! Add that story about her mom who passed away from cancer? Whew. She’s a winner! But they didn’t make it to the TOP 6!

The TOP 6! Breathtakingly exciting. Philippines is hanging on along with other top picks. By this time I was rooting for Haiti and Colombia. Thailand has a great answer exalting their nation’s beloved king, while Kenya spoke with poise and fervor. But after all the answers, I think Haiti, Colombia, and France were up top. And I was not mistaken! Colombia, France, and Haiti all made it to the Final 3! And eventually Miss France was crowned this year’s Miss Universe!
