THESE GAMES ARE ABOUT TO ROCK THOSE NOSTALGIA GLASSES
Happy Geek Pride Day fellow Eventurers! Today’s modern pop culture landscape is a special one. Wouldn’t you agree? Everything that was deemed uncool a few decades ago is now something everyone is interested in. No one is making fun of anyone for playing Dungeon’s and Dragons anymore, in fact if you know how to play the game you’re probably one of the coolest people in everyone’s friends list. We even get a day to show off how proud we are to be geeks! Amazing, right?

Capcom’s second best-selling franchise first hadoukened its way into the collective consciousness of geeks in 1987. Fighting game fans across the globe credit Street Fighter II with setting up many of the conventions of one-on-one versus games that we see today. I mean, who hasn’t heard of the hadouken?
Fans of Street Fighter II will be happy to hear that the game will be making its return on May 26 for the Nintendo Switch. Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers will have fully remastered graphics and some added bonuses. Aside from coin operated arcades SFII was also available on Nintendo’s Super NES, 10 years later we’ve come full circle as the game makes its way to the Big N’s current home console.
Star Trek: Bridge Crew
Star Trek fans have been one of the oldest fandoms to wave and carry the geek banner and to you Trekkies I say, “live long and prosper”. I mean these people were the OG geeks and that’s pretty cool!

While the innovations for deep space exploration might still be a few light years away (Or is it? Also, I know that light years are a measurement of distance ok?), Trekkies will soon get the chance to man their very own starship and boldly go where no man has gone before. That’s right, get those federation outfits ready as you and your friends get to experience Star Trek like you’ve never had before!
Star Trek: Bridge Crew is a VR experience for PS4 and Microsoft Windows which will allow Trekkies to interact with Klingons and Vulcans alike, while exploring a fast galaxy in their starship.
Does the idea deep space too frightening for you? Well, the next game is set right here on terra firma.
