VALERIAN: A MODERN SPACE ODYSSEY
Ok, I am going to be honest with you. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets wasn’t really on my radar until recently. I stumbled upon the movie’s trailer while browsing through YouTube and I was instantly blown away. The idea of space is already exciting, but how this movie presents itself will undoubtedly draw you to the stars even more. Here are 3 reasons why you need to go watch Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets once it is shown in theaters this July.’
IT’S VISUALLY STUNNING
The movie is based off a series of 1960’s French graphic novels called Valérian and Laureline. These books were written by Pierre Christin. What caught my eye right off the bat was the movie’s adaptation of the art of Jean-Claude Mézières. The colors literally pop out of the screen (I mean the movie is in 3D, so having the world jump out at you is a good thing.), props to the colorist! The CGI deserves massive praise as well! You could already believe the world is real just by watching the trailer.
How realistic would these creatures and worlds be once we see them in 3D?
